THE TAJMAHAL- SEVENTH WONDER OF THE WORLD
Taj Mahal:was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his queen Mumtaz Mahal, made out of white marble took 22 years to complete (1630-1652 AD). Ustad Isa, a Persian Architect, is said to be the main designer and planner for this magnificent memorial. On full moon nights, the glory of the Taj is at its best.
This was the British attempt to redo the Taj Mahal!!! Though nothing can hold out a candle to the Taj, this is an imposing structure and undoubtedly one of the most astounding sights in India. This is most definitely the greatest reminder of the days of the Raj in India. Regardless of whether or not the Raj (the British Imperial rule in India) interests you, this stands a monument to the British Empire at its peak in India. Qutab Minar
This 288 foot tower located near present day Delhi, India was built by Qutb-ud-Din Aybak, the first Muslim ruler to choose Delhi as his capital. The tower was completed in the early 13th century A.D. ..The Qutab Minar was designed `to cast the shadow of God over the east and over the west.' Its 72.5 metres certainly casts a long and impressive shadow at sunrise and sunset. The first three storieys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth have bands of white marble round them.
